It reminds of Ghost In The Shell, though looking at how connected are devices and people these days, it won't surprise me if someone goes to the extreme of exchange organs for spare parts, or if anyone just happens to be modified into a cyborg after a crash.
I won't mind if someone has bionics in its body, but I'll mind on the reasons behind it. Considering the actions that move this economy, something may have to change about interaction with information and its judging. I'm actually more worried about people trying to sell their bodies to become part-machine due to a consumerist tendency of marketing, and therefore, the edge to open organ-trafficking.
yea ghost is the shell is totally awesome and I agree with you that its scary but its definitely going to happen. obviously in a much more internal or human way that what i have depicted here. it will be like oh your 45 now so we recommend you get a new heart and liver... all spun as the proper healthy thing to do. but seriously no one wants to die so it will be big business. I'm also all for extending youth/ active years but yes people will also augment for much more consumerism reasons (like jacking into a virtual reality which will totally change the economics of "information")
either way it will be interesting what it does to us. it will not only change us physically but also socially. like what happens to family and marriage when people live for 200 years? also what happens to the world we live in? thanks for the interesting comments
